View Full Version : engine re build
This project started from my flywheel being damaged and IanMM saying pop down my unit we'll soon have that fixed. Now months later and alot of money spent Its nearly back in the car cause I will be gutted if I miss out on National day. Still lots to do but as long as it is running for national day everything else can be sorted later
After lots of gunk and lots and lots of wire brushing ive finally cleaned my block :):)
Finished painting my block :):)
Thanks to the help of IanMM we fitted my uprated head gasket, my chemically cleaned head , my piper 270 cam and all the push rods etc have all gone in now.
Slowly starting to look like an engine again.:)
TWO WEEKS TILL NATIONAL DAY AND IM SLIGHTLY WORRIED!!!!!!!!!!:cry:
don't fret there are plenty of all nighters we can do in between now and then :)

lol now the engine is done that shouldn't take you to long to get all back in a couple of hours work max:)
errrrrr.......engine crane helps...........any locals help out? the one we used to take it out is not available
managed to get a little bit closer today after a few more hours and another visit to CGB. Thanks again to IanMM for his help couldnt do it without you buddy
very nice , good to see another five kept alive instead of them been broke :) keep up the good work , it looks like you have a tidy raider there
engine looks sweet, lovin the blue block, think mine needs a good tidy up :)
Top work fella, I always find it sastifying when I fit a nice shiney new engine, just a shame they always end up covered in oil lol
the only trouble with fitting a nice clean engine is I gota keep the dam thing clean lol
Just wish id got time to do the engine bay before national day but I'll be lucky if I get the car running in time lol
New poster! (less than 10 posts)

if its sparkling when it goes in its alot easier to keep on top of it than you'd think.
i changed my starter and driveshaft recently and finished with suprisingly clean hands!!
Lightened flywheel, new Valeo heavy duty clutch and gearbox now on. Next step putting it back in the car on sat fingers crossed.
