right the car has been sat off the road for a year or so without being run.

i have got it turning over but have got a problem with no spark is there a way i can check the crank sensor or a way off checking the coil pack?
i have a feeling it's the sensor?

turned out to be connections on tdc or aei , poss also king lead

i forgot to mention it's running on standalone management. so it using crank sensor not tdc and coil pack not module.
is there a way of testing the sensor?

There should be three wires, one of which being the earth. You should be able to measure some resistance between the remaining two wires when measured with a multimeter. To correctly measure the actual voltage pulse, you'll need an oscilloscope.

Make sure the gap between the trigger wheel isn't too big.

ok yep three wire's to the c/s middle wire is earth. i put the meter between the other two wires and the meter reads a steady 0.36v.

also three wires to the coil pack one earth ,second live, third nothing?
is the third wire wait for a reading from the crank sensor?

if it's any help i'm using sen 8d3 crank sensor 3 pin with a 36-1 trigger wheel

the gap is about 2mm between the sensor and the wheel.

on the senosr it has three wires + - s i have earth on the middle and 0.35/0.36 on the live. how will i test the s wire?

What's the resistance between the 2 live wires? If it's anything like the GTT TDC sensor then it should be around 300 ohms give or take 100? That's a guess?

ok i have done the resistance test and nothing happened so i did test on the std gtt tdc to make sure i'm doing it right and it came back with .206.
so i take it as there is no resistance and the crank sensor is at fault.

does it make a different in the way you should test as the c/s has three pins and the gtt has two pins?
i did try testing all three pins but still no reading. i just what to make sure before ordering a new c/s.

It doesn't matter which way round you measure the resistance as long as it's between the 2 signal wires and NOT the earth. If you've done it this way then i'd say either your sensor or sensor wiring is at fault as you have an open circuit.
