Glowing exhaust Manifold [Archive]

After a few blasts on the way home last night i decided to open my bonnet to help cool the engine quicker .... expecting to see the turbine housing glowing i didnt .... instead i saw the long branch of the exhuast housing glowing ..... Is this Normal after giving the car some boost ??

I read somewhere that the turbo on the Merc SL Brabus on full chat, gets so hot that it turns clear and you can see the bearings inside! :eek:
