Whilst having a look on Dialogys I noticed that the door hinges it lists appear to bolt to the door with two bolts and a plate behind and the other part of the hinge still welds to the shell.

All the doors I've seen have the hinge welded to the door and the other part welded to the car. But for ease of removing the doors I wouldn't mind the bolt on door hinge.

Does anyone have this type of fitment on their 5 and know if it can be fitted to later type doors by cutting the original welded on hinge off.

(I'll stick up Dialogys print screen up later if that helps)

I had some rotten doors I got with a car a while back where the door hinges were bolted on, but every other set of Renault 5 doors I've seen have been welded.

I wish Renault had used bolts for both the hinges on the car body and the door on all models, because it's a pain in the arse sorting out damaged hinges!

i think the bolt on ones are a kit u get for a new or worn door ect.u can get pin or bushing types i think?when u remove the origional ones with a dremel cutting disc (as i did)u are left with 2 bolt holes for the replacments.

So you cut off the old door hinges on the door and there are two bolts holes behind the welded plate where you bolt the new door hinge with plate onto and then refit the door as before.

If this is true have you or anyone else got an idea of the codes for these as it will make life so much easier to replace dropping door hinges.

Thanks.

Do you need to replace both parts or only the part thats bolted to the car door?

if ur going the bushing route then u'l have to drill and ream the door pillar part so u can drive in the bushes(so they dont rotate)measure the bushes and buy a reamer thats about 0.006" undersize.make sure u try it on a test piece first!

So would i be right in saying if you car had original split pin doors that if you buy the torx kit you can change to them as these are a lot easier to remove, also is that Price quoted per hinge or per door?

Thanks

Price per door, each kit contains a 2 hinges one top and one bottom. The price is 4 years out of date, expect it to have changed when you visit Renault.
