fitting new arb bushes ?

ok straight forward job , however in haynes manual it says to only
fully tighten (torque up) the arb bush clamps when the car is off the jack
and on its wheels .

anyone know the reason for this ? :scratch:

needs the full weight of them. i think its to do with how it would sit.

in air as apoased to on the deck.

I believe its because when you clamp the bushes is prevents them from moving, when the car is lowered the arb will move ,and due to the bushes not moving they will in affect twist and prematurley wear.. ive been told its the same for wishbone bushes aswell but its a pita to do them on my 205 when its down.
