Right as you probally aware ive recently rebuilt and fitted a engine to my 5.

I got everything plumbed in just started filling it up with oil and its pouring out of the sump near the crank shaft pulley so im guessing i didnt fit the half moon shape oil seal properly.

is it possible to remove the sump with engine in car?

and how do you Fit the crank sump seals properly i though i had done it right but obviously not.

any help will be much apprecaited.

thanks

Yes you can take the sump off with the engine in the car,;) as for sealing it, the more sealant the better even on the half moon shaped seals just wack loads on!:)

Make sure it's a good quality sealant too, don't think reno do thixso any more but last time I did it I used an evo stick variant from halfrauds:agree:

Renault still sell Thixo :)

You will probably have to bend part of the subframe lip out the way to get to one of the bolts
