View Full Version : Mechanical water temp gauge - fitting
I have an oil pressure/water temp combined gauge I got from Think Automotive a while back. I fitted the oil pressure last night but now I have to work out where to fit the water temp sensor.
Has anyone fitted one of these before? Where did you put it?
I don't have the dimension of the sensor with me but I can put them up later, but I think the sender is about 4cm long from the thread. I thought about putting it in the blanking plate on the head but IIRC there isn't enough room inside.
Any ideas would be appreciated :)

assuming you'r talking about a c1j...
drill and tap or drill and weld a boss onto the plate on the side of the head on the pass side, or make a section of pipe to fit into ya top rad hose, like a dump valve tee piece, but with a sensor in where the d/v would be
I used a T piece in the top rad hose, (I still have the T piece as a spare now as the water gauge bit broke) all my parts where think auto
Bit like that ? Cheers 'M' :D

Thanks mate, I've got one in the box that the gauge was in ... guess I took it off one of my other heads a while ago :)
Does anyone know the inner diameter of the top rad hose between bleed screw and rad?
I'll give you a hint .....
