My 5's rear bumper has become detached on the right hand side, where the hangar has rusted through. Are these available to weld back on or are they a DIY job?

Im guessing he is actually talking about the body panel which the bumper attaches to as plastic dont normally rust ;)

As for replacing, just cut a piece of metal to shape and weld

Im talking about the bit where the bumper actually bolts onto the car, at the back of the rear arch at the top

slightly confused.. on this piece, how come are there two holes.. i can unerstand one for the bolt to go through and onto the bumper bracket but what about the second.

other hole is for the black rubber mount on your bumper.

question is... is that black rubber mount essential.

As on my rebuild i got a cup car bumper sprayed up for my car, its minus the black rubber bits.

Will it still sit ok ?

i thought the rr bumper was fixed in 4 areas...the 2 rear arch points and the bottom lip of the bumper on some brackets ?

or am i mistaken ?

TBH, ive never had a 5 with the rubber locating bits at the sides

Ive only ever attached the bumper loosly at the sides, them moved it up and down (on the side) bolts to get the desired position. Then nipped up the two brackets at the bottom of the rear bumper
