Just wondering if anyone has a starter heat shield on their car ?
Did they come standard ?
I ask because I seem to kill alot of starter motors !!

the last one i got from renault.
They are all recon starters, they also cost over the odds for what they are thats not surprising from renault.
Ok I will order from reggie....
next question..
What is the part number for the heat sheld ?
And is there a bracket that holds the above ? (also need part number)
Thanks guys:):)
No bracket for the starter shield, its bolts to the back of the block

Oh but there is Mr M. It's held on with the starter motor bolts.
I binned mine off and heat wrapped my down pipe, heat wrap is lighter than metal
The starter heatshield is only metal on the ph1, the ph2 is the fibre material like the turbo heatshield.

I have had several starters fail on me and when I asked around alot of people told me that is was heat soak, which was cusing them to fail, so I brought one as it is alot cheaper than replacing starter motors.

I also heat wrapped the down pipe, Had the same starter for 3 years now.
