Getting the most out of me RAM

Just wondered what peoples thoughts were on how to get the most out of my RAM. I have an Advent 8315 laptop with 2gb of RAM but the RAM and CPU monitor thingy i have only shows it ever using 50% of the total RAM, even when running 3+ programs at once!

RAM will get used as and when it is needed, so what you are seeing is normal. Some systems have 6GB of ram but that doesn't mean that all of that will be used up at the same time! Other components also have ram for the system to use in some cases GFX card etc...
