Does anybody know what way round this goes? ive had a quick look and it looks as if it can only go one way round as the other way catches against engine mount.

one side as a rubber seal the other doesnt my guess would be the rubber seal goes against block? but this is the way it catches on the mount?

any info would be great

the side with the rubber seal goes against the block.
get the angle grinder out and cut away some of the engine mount bracket to get it to fit.

this is correct you have to cut part of the engine mount bracket for it to fit. Don't try and be clever and fit it the other way with an extra ruber seal. It ends in tears ! :ashamed:

it shouldnt matter what pipe goes where.
make sure you plug the hole when you start cutting or loads of swarf and crap will go into your engine.
make sure there is enough clearance when you cut the engine mount that the stat can open and close.

How much did you cut off? as its close to the top bolt of the mount, how far does the thermostat open?

i cut so the stat could be fitted dead straight then took a few more cm's off.

I used the orginal sandwich plate and used the orginal metal pipes then got pirtek to fix new ends on the orginal metal pipes as I cut off the rubber hoses that go to the rad they also shortened my mocal rubber hoses so it fitted nice in the engine bay.
