This is something i haven't really looked well into, as i have generally ran either borrowed maps or just flat 'safe' maps to get up and running. Whats the best way to start tuning the ignition? Is it a case of advancing until detonation or some other safer method? I would also like to to look at the boost setting. At the moment i only have a 1 bar map sensor, so to start with, i'll remain within this. Also whats the disadvantage of running an ignition map flat, ie how will it affect the engines performance and dynamics?

1 bar map? so you can't use any boost?

Think id change thre map sensor before you start to tune, may save you time in future if you decide to up the boost..

You know i dont know why i bother sometimes:

1 bar gauge pressure or:

For the smart arses out there,

200 kilopascals
59.05998 inches of mercury
1.97 atmospheres
200000 pascals
29.00 psi
2.088 ton/foot squared!!

You need another '0' to add to the pascals jobby;)

you sure? 100,000 Pascals per bar

MAP = manifold absolute pressure
