got head of and i got a little play in the liners in the block put pistons are nice n tight is this normal

you shouldnt have play in the liners if you take the head off you should bolt the liners down so they dont move........

think you will have to re-bed them now mate

i did bolt them down as per haynes manual but there is a lilttle bit of play front to back and side to side

Oh dear, sump off conrods and pistons out time to put new liner seals in.:scared:

if you bolted them down how did you have movement in them?

if the liners are just sat in situ they will have slight play in them. untill the head is bolted down or held securley with bolts and washers that is. watch you dont nip the liner seals moving them about.

Everytime I've taken the head off , 4 times now, there has never been any side play on my liners when they have been bolted down. If there was I would be thinking in the back of my mind what if? But hey that's just me. :) I an pretty paranoid when it comes to these cars. :D

they will not move if bolted down correctly

ill have to :cry:. and to add to that ive just found one of the exhaust/inlet manifold studs have been cross threaded and has fcuk the thread. happy days
