Ive just finished rebuilding my carb and Its hunting a little bit what can be the causes of this?, on the accelerator pump nozzle should it have a black o ring or a little red rubber gasket? I fitted the smallest o ring to it as thats what it looked like it had before but cant help thinking its wrong as it looks like it could of been ment for the mixture screw.

Recently Ive been getting a whining noise coming from the water pump and when I spin it by hand its almost like it sounds like there a bit of rubber stuck in it, the pump has only seen just over 4000 miles any idea whats wrong with it? thanks

idle jet.....give it all a good clean inc mixture screw i remember mine taking a good few cleans before it ran right..

water pump could be a few things....are you sure the noise is not coming from the belt? flush system out to see if there is any crap in it and give the wheel a squib with WD40

It could be the belt, but when the belt is off it feels and sounds strange, there shouldn't be any crap in there as its all been flushed out so many times recently due to other issues but I suppose there's a chance, Im just been wondering if maybe a bit of ptfe tape has got caught up as I used some on a bleed nipple a while ago:crap: thanks

To be honest Sam for the price of a new Water pump it might be worth just replacing it.
