It seems like there some national shortage of Renault F7 / Volvo B18FT big end bearings, none of the usual places I use have them

I need a set of vandervell or fm big end shells for 16v F7P/F7R or volvo B18ft (the same) and not Clio 172 (I need the locating tabs to fit my steel rods, 172 bearings are plain) (std size)

Anyone have any good online places I could try ? or somewhere I could phone and mail order from ? Could really do with them before the w/end. The *only* online place I found was enginestuff.co.uk but a) they didn't list a brand and b) they had no stock anyway. Taking time off this week to collect from a factors is not an option

Scoff.....I second Sparkie on FPS...we use them daily and haven't been let down yet...

also, if it helps, all the F series block...petrol or weasel....1.6D,1.9D,laguna,kangoo,extra 19,21,megane etc all share the same shells as the clio 16v......might open up your search if they say no to clio 16v but yes to an extra diesel 1.6....

Renault part number 7711130062....but can only assume for a standard crank as no undersize/oversize part number appears on dialogys

Thanks everyone, I was just hoping to find somewhere I could do a nifty mail order from, I have got them on order now so job done.

Paul, yes, all the same as you say, I thought they might be. It's the F4 that are different since they have no locating tabs. I once used some locating type bearings in F4 rods and ground the locating tabs off. One spun and took the crank out. I don't know if it was related but I didn't fancy using F4 bearings in my F7 steel rods since I now need the locating tabs again. I wondered if the non-locating type shells are marginally oversize so that they are clamped in the rod once it's torqued up.

Stu, yes, bradford was the first port of call :(
