I take it this is a common problem on the 5 turbos?
Now ive been told it could be two things,
1. gearbox worn
2. linkage and mounts
Every other gear is fine and nice and tight, no noises etc.
It has done it since i brought the car and mainly does it when you are going around a right hand bend?
The previous owner had tried to fit a short shift and then had problems with the gear selector not finding the gears he managed to get it working fine but had the probelm with 2nd gear popping out?
Now what are peoples thoughts on this?
The gearbox is out at the minute as im rebuilding the engine, i cant really afford to get the box rebuilt and if its just the selector id rather fix it this way as i know the rest box is fine.
When refitting how do you fit the selector correctly?
any info would be great.
