The fan in my PS3 has all of a suddon got really loud after about half our of game play.
It never used to do this, it doesn't effect gaming or anything eather, just sound like its gonna blow up. Any ideas? :confused:

Weird....

Mine's stood up on it's side at the mo and seems to be ok, although it doesn't get used a lot. Maybe give that a try if it isn't already.

Give it a blast through with compressed air as there's probably a build up of dust that can hamper cooling.

Funnily enough mines just started doing the same thing - I've not played it for a while also.

I put it down to the hotter weather? :scratch:

PS3 vents on front and side get clgged up very easily with dust. Get a compressed air can and give it a good spray.

Especially if your PS3 is the 60Gb one, it has a larger core, which needs more cooling. The fan, like on an ordinary PC, will speed up to increase the cooling and can sometimes sound like a jumbo jet.

Mine lays flat and doesn't have an issue, but I give it a spray every now and then to keep the dust down.

athats what i thought at first but i aimed a big fan at it and it made no differance:sad2:
