hiya guys im looking for some information ive been told that the 1.8 clio rsi gearbox fits to the 5 engine and that the driveshafts are the same? now basicly im wanting to know if this is true and wether the box fits and if its better to use than 5 box?

as in stronger? better ratios? or just all around better than 5 box?

i heard about this box last week from an old rally guy. - he said is had a better stack of gears than the gtt box....

might be better for rallying, but not better, the final drive is a 4.21, so all noise and no go.

Driveshafts will be too long, although you will be able to use GTT ones.

** I'm thinking 16V, is RSI the same??? what's the JB3 xxx number? **

then again if all gears are better apart from a shorter final drive i could get another final drive and get someone i know who recon boxes to recon box and fit new final drive

Yes its a JB3 in a RSi but its in a JB1 style casing like a 5 GTT JB3.... Its a nice gerbox for 16v imo
