I've sheared off one of the return valves on the back of the manifold this morning while i was buggering around, will i be safe to run without one of them ( to the breather) till i can get one sorted ?? Cheers

I've blanked it off for now and the car still idles ok !

think it will be ok,some blank it off anyway to run differant breather set
up/catch tank.s'time you do have to adjust idle.

aaH BUM ! It won't idle now i'm over fueling and its lumpy an jerky.
I've blanked off where the return valve was on the back of the manifold and i've stuck the breather filter on top of the catch tank for time being.
Is there something else i should be doing ?

Have you got oe breather setup? What have you done with the breather tubing that went into the oneway valve?have you Blocked it off?

I've blocked the one way valve hole off with a bolt, and i've removed the breather filter.

Are you positive you have a good seal with the bolt in the inlet manifold. I had to put a copper washer on too caus it wasn't sealing. With it idleing up and down defo sounds like an air leak. So your breather setup is rocker and sump to oil catch with filter on top of catch tank?

Thats right mate,ye i've got a copper washer on the bolt ! when i can get it to start it throwing plumes out of the exhaust

What is the other one way valve for on the manifold ? (comes from the left of the engine bay)

He other one is for the braking side of things. Can you post a pic of your breather pipes to carb etc.

Right struggling a bit as I'm on my iPhone. You look like your running the cup mod. Were did the breather that was in the valve go to before you broke it? And were is it know?

the breather filter was attached to the top of the cath tank and then to the valve on the manifold, now i've just put the filter on top of the catch tank.

Did you fit the copper washer on the bolt that now fills the hole in the manifold mate, i can't see it in the picture and the bolt looks like its hanging out abit.

Apart from that the breather set-up looks ok from the pic's

Ye mate i took that as i was re-fitting it, There is a copper washer on !
I've tried starting it with my finger on the hole just letting a bit of air pass and its running better than with the bolt in ?

It will run better with the bolt in, with the hole being open your allowing air to go into the engine after the carb which will lean it out a hell of alot.

Best thing to do is make sure the bolt you have used is sealed in nice in the inlet manifold

Ye it is Mark, i've shortened it and put the copper washer on, def sealed.
its overfueling now that all this has changed ?
