i took my car for an mot 2months ago and it failed on the sills :(. so i gave it to a good friend who took it to his friend that works on old cars including 5s, vws, etc to do the sills as he does it for a living, at the same time i got him to fill and spray my bumpers.
4 weeks past and no car so after many calls i finally went round to his house, paid and collected my car. bumpers looked good and the sills looked ok from what i could see. but he had drilled holes in the skirts and arches to bolt then back to my car and put this nasty white culkkin down the side skirts instead of the original strips that were there before, the starter motor had broke and the exaust had started to blow just off the turbo, all of which were fine before!:mad:
so i took it to the mot station after fixing the starter motor myself and it failed agen on the sills, mot tester said the work hadnt been done, so i got a second opinion from another mot station and the same was said. i looked at it for myself and could see there point!
not wanting to take it back to the same guy who ripped me off (duno why), this mornin i took it to a specialist auto welders how came highly recomended to get the work done agen, who refused to do the work due to the amount on underseal underneath the car which he said was highly flammable and couldnt weld onto without my car goin up in flames!:eek: so nothings still been done tax is tickin away and insurance to!
to be honest i really dont no what to do from here on in so i would like as much feed back as possible please
