rod nuts

just a quicky,

lill bro is building a new engine for his 5, but the rods dont have nuts, they were prob lost when it was at the machine shop. renault are about £3 each, with dubious supply..

has anyone used anything else, or is it just not worth the risk?

I'd bite the bullet and fork out renault prices fella.
Even flanged unbrako nuts are mass produced, poor quality items compared to the ones from renault. You wanna be sure that they aren't gunna strip or let go at high revs/load, it'd be messy if they did :eek:

exactly my fear, didn't wanna chuck on just any old ones and then get a phone call asking why it sounds like the rod caps are sitting in the sump
