Oil pressure

Drove to work this morning and noticed my oil pressure has dropped, normally sits about 3 bar, whereas it sat at about 1.4 bar this morning and didn't really move?

this the original gauge or a mechanical one?

This is an aftermarket autogauge dial, fitted in the original place on the engine. Had no problems with it, then this morning the pressure kept dropping. Haven't had the bonnet off yet, gonna have a look at lunch in case theres a leak or low oil?

K just checked my engine and it appears to have a slight oil leak from the rocker cover, could that cause it? My oil levels spot on still

no it shouldn't do is it an electrical one then? (the oil gauge?) if it is try cleaning the contacts on it first where its plugged in as a lose or dirty connection will give false readings....IMO only decent oil gauge is a mechanical one....

Yeah its got an eletrical sender unit, i'll try, but just seems a little strange as yesterday it was ok. The engine sounds ok and performance seems gd
