View Full Version : scrap metal.?
could anyone tell me the price per kilo of scrap metal?
i want to get rid of a few car bits clogging the garage up.
Different prices in most weigh in yards, unless your taking a lot don't expect much for steel. Alloy & stainless you will get a bit more for.
I just rang about my Astra. They said about £8.50 per 100Kg.

Thats went down a fair bit I think?
People were getting £400 for the big kit like Volvo's etc not that long ago!
we put a written fiat cinq into the boot of an Alfa 164....
we got £280 for the pair
Bloke in the local industrial estate weighed in an old Merc estate with a fair bit of scrap in the boot. Got it was either £360 or £380 for it. That was last Christmas though.
Be nice to think it's all getting back to normal again. Fuel should be coming down again soon as well :)

With the price of crude right now, once the lag in the system clears, it should be back to sub £1 a litre again.
I bet it doesn't though:(
Feckin country.

Sub £1 litre? Jeez, been a few years since that was the case.

WELL, you are paying £109 a litre where you shop......
see above....EDIT
Never forget when I started driving, it was 30p a litre.
I remember coming home off deployment, and it had went up to 44p a litre while I was away, and thinking I was getting robbed.
Wasn't that long ago. Bloody Government.:scared:
I just paid £1.19 a litre. Esso, but Tesco were almost the same. Was cheaper to fill up here than drive the 1 mile and back to fill up at Tesco.
I rang another very big very organised London wide scrappy, they collect and said £50 for the Astra.
