Competitions, just not the same...

I really hate it that all competitions you see nowadays on drinks cans, chocolate bars etc.. are all, "Text this number to see if you're a winner", pi55 off! Why can't you have win or lose under ring pulls? Or gold tickets in penguin bars? (Remember those, find a gold ticket and win a Sega Megadrive, sweet, my mate won one this way :cool:) I used to love the anticipation of opening up a treat and seeing if I've won or not, it's just not the same anymore :(

Plus, can we have a 'place to whinge' board again for posts like this? ;)

Strange, I was thinking the same thing the other day :scared:

I remember my mate won a Coca-Cola gold spinner one lunch time at school, from his Coke can ring pull. He instantly gained legendary status :D

I remember ring pulls, also crisps used to have a small satchel with money, I bet some addictive gambler blamed all his habits stemed from these competitions and so sued companies fo milliions hence why they are no more.

i won a mega drive + 7 games back in the day!!!! it said my name in sega power magazine and everythin!!!! i was celeb at primary school!!!! :laugh::laugh:

I've never won anything from wrappers (apart from a couple of trips to Alton Towers in Sugar Puffs years ago), but I did win a Raleigh Activator in Fast Forward magazine by sending in the correct answer :cool:, and I won £100 in Amiga Action, double :cool::cool:

Tis another bummer of nowdays compared to the owd days...I used to love the old school competitions, never won out tho:(! From a nowdays perspective tho as well i even hate the macdonalds monopoly b*****ks iwouldn't even contemplate going to makies that much anyway, but to complete a monopoly board a win a peugeot scooter or something! i just like it when when you can just peel off n just win a big mac at least! But nothing compared to the anticipation of opening a bag of crisps with £20 in...n a mega drive n games Blick!!! and a mention in a magazine!! Legendary!!
