Which is best cleaning products out there to clean all the water steaks off my plastics. Ive tried general bumper cares but rather than making them shinny over the dirty dark water looking streaks i just want the marks gone.. Im starting to think petrol or thinners? let me know any cleaning tricks you use as im not a car cleaning sort of guy :crap:....

I think some of the VW lads use a hair drier/blow torch/heat gun to just warm the black plastic on the mk2 gti bumpers, it does bring it back up a glossy black, maybe that woudl remove the marks and then you could use the autogylm bumper are to maintain the finish.

I'd be careful though.

I imagine that would work on the PP Injection Moulded bumpers as the heat is relieving the stress whitening effect seen on PP bumpers but as the bumpers on a GTT are a GRP lay up I it wouldn't work.

Autoglym bumper gel is the best stuff ;)

What you need is autoglym 07b, but you need to be in the trade, not seen it for sale for a while but do have some left in a bottle. Works a treat! It is a cleaner not a bumper treatment.

I use to buy it from the Autoglymman when he came round, I have seen it on sale at a few shows, but hard to come by.

Looks like this

This piece of advice is worth the £25 joining fee to any Ph1 owner. :agree:

This is a bit bolting the gate blah blah blah..........

But i assume the streaks are chalk dissolved in the water as this will remove that from the water.

That's for removing polish etc, a pencil eraser works just as well btw.
