My current r5 is insured through admiral at around £600 for 10 months. I phoned up today to ask about a cost to add my J plate to the policy for one day to take to the mot. They explained they could only do it for a minimum of 1 week, however to add that car to my policy for a week, the price i had was £16.5 which i thought was pretty reasonable and means that so long as the car passes the mot it will give me 1 week of access to both cars should the new r5 hicup any issues that have arisen from it standing so long. The only thing that is a kick in the dick is when it comes to swapped the policy off the old r5 and onto the new one for good i have to pay £28 admin fee.. boo

just get day insurance, google it. I got insurance on a day for about 20 quid or something around that figure but its easier for people over 23 as I am 21 only some companies would allow me to do that.
