do renault offer a 3.0 v6 engine?

just a quick one really, do renault do a 3.0 v6 that has 200bhp or more that is wait for it...........normally aspirated :eek:

id like a older v6 like pre 1995 so its non of this ecu works with this key and crap

its for my latest project, im looking at renault first so it can stay intune with my love of renaults but ive already eyed up a pug 406 v6 engine but god knows where to start with one of them :crap:

so suggestions and bhp levels please, there must of been a people carryer out there with some thing crazy in it thats available from all scrap yards :)

renualt clio had a 3.0 v6 was the l7x engine but is 2000/2004
no sure with the key imoboliser, im guessing it has in that sort of car

you could try a duratech ford v6 close to 200bhp
or a vauxhall v6 190bhp

edit: just remembered they stuck the l7x v6 in a espace but dont know if they made a manual version and the auto box was crap for changing gear when the foot was put down
oh and the laguna in 1997

2.8 in the gta and ren 25 and Espace z6w.Volvo and Pug same basic lump .
Later 24 valve jobs are around , very rare but are the ones to look out for for biggest potential .
Std GTA 2.8 is around 160 bhp but has bags of torque so don't get too hung up on brake horse with these things .
You can fit triple webbers or a big holley to get rid of the solex stuff which is a bit of a mare to fettle .
This coupled with some decent manifolds may get you near the 200 bhp mark .

i wonder if the l7x v6 in a espace has a common bell housing bolt pattern with a gt or clio ect ect and i take it that would be a in-line engine not transverse

i could never use a vaxhall engine it would be a real last resort, god i hate them!

do you think these engines could fit in the back of 5 sized hatchback one way or another?

i know of another metro 6r2 with a gta engine in i think and 300bhp form just doesnt sound right :ashamed:

Yeh it'd fit .Not that big a lump and all ali .I have a few lying about in the turbo form they'd be 200 out the box .......
Big power is poss but it's going to have a had a shed load of money thrown at it and be basically just the block that remains .Grp4 A310
Odd fire so has its own unique little ways .

OK...as above...the clio 3 litre V6....same base unit as in peugeot.volvo etc....just the 24V version.....all good for 200bhp as is....more with mod's.

now then , the new espace has the nissan based 3.5V6 at 240BHP out the box.....,the 350z version is 280BHP....so, a fair lump and plenty of modding spec available....

had a good look at a 3.0 v6 today in work in a 2000 reg espace hes been quoted £1500 quid to have the cam belts done as its engine out job!

ive said id do it cheep just so i can have a good measure up and a poke about :coffee:
