Finally ... car has made it through the MOT ...

Thanks to Colin (Master) for working his magic on some things I couldn't fix

Thanks to the local garage for the obscene amount of welding to the sills, jacking points, arches, exhaust and for melting my debit card :D

Now ... where shall I drive to? :burnrubber::cool2::burnrubber:

If I could get a tax disc I'd be very tempted :) just been to the post office, didn't know I needed the V5 not the V11 when it's been declared SORN. Also, DVLA website doesn't recognise my code now so can't get tax until tomorrow morning ... if I can find my V5 that is :ashamed:

If you do it online then you won't get done if stopped. :D

Yes you will. It's an offence to not display a valid tax disk. The oldskool days of the old "Tax applied for" line no longer works!

What about a sign saying "Tax in post"?

All you have to do is print off the receipt page from the tax purchase and you will be fine. My mate is a traffic cop and he told me to do it when my tax disc didn't turn up in time for start of month.

Yeah i had the same problem, and i actually rung the DVLA and apparently you're allowed 5 days not displaying the tax disc as thats how long it should take to come through, and in the mean time just carry the receipt round with you in case you do get stopped

Same here... my 5 failed the MOT too (or APK as it's called in Holland)... the sills were too badly corroded, as well as the chassis beams behind them... on both sides :(
But look at it now... everything has been replaced by new stuff :D:
