Just wondering what peoples opinions are on the french car show. I myself found the show really good with good track action, plenty to do and the weather was awesome, rtoc stand wasn't great but i enjoyed the company of friend's and having a chat with the other r5 owners. It was a shame for the dusty area with regards to some of the concourse spec cars getting covered in dust. Was good to see the R5 spares breaker with his parts for sale. The whole hype towards the 205/405 t16 which was pushed towards the 205 gti drivers boards was a bit of a let down with only one t16 in attendance, but it was still good to see the one.

For people interested in how the situation of mine and dikkies fcs tickets not showing up went.. well.. Upon arriving at the show we parked in public parking and went to the tickets office with receipts of our ticket orders and proof of identity. We were told we needed to speak to the guys in the information office to sort out this , however the information office was based within the grounds and therefore we would need to pay again to enter the grounds and then take up the situation with the guys in the ticket office to get a refund. After asking to be escorted into the grounds to sort out the situation and refused we reluctantly paid again for the tickets we had already ordered and went to the information office. We found mark (fcs organiser) who once told the situation told us he would not refund the ticket cost and that he would instead chase royal mail first claim the cash off them , and send us a cheque in the post. After around another 10/15 mins of arguing due to the fact we were both out of pocket now by £30 (also bearing in mind everything had to be paid in cash as there was not bank card facilities) he eventually gave us both a cash refund for the tickets we purchased at the gate. all in all we got the cash back which was the main thing, however it really should not be so difficult and in future i would advise everyone to simply pay on the gate and avoid all the agro we had to go through..

So will i go again.. yes

Only ill simply pay on the gate, if it means public parking or not.

My opinion ....i didnt get to see much of the show due to my car.

I liked how all the clubs came over and started talking to us ..offering a hand ...offering advice tho :D As my car was sitting in my stand in pieces lol. Everyone was friendly when i asked for tools ...i was in the 21turbo stand at one point asking for tools...big thanks if your on here by the way!! Also thanks to the french 5gtt owners for bringing over some gasket sealant in the campsite :).

I did however see the drifting and the stunt team which was good. Only watched the track once and only seen the gunmetal grey gtt going round the track.

Security told me i couldnt go to the pits when i needed to meet up with nick and kris for parts ...we soon found a way round there tho:laugh:

Wind wasnt as bad as last year ...dust did a lot of peoples heads in but i thought the stand area's were much better than last year :)

There's only two works 205 T-16's in the country, so seeing one isn't too bad

previous posts by mark on the 205 boards.

"I have just had the following offer of a transporter with an additional 205 T16 E2, a 405 T16 Pise Peak Vatanen car and a Camel 205 T16 ON TOP of what we have but there are high costs involved so the extras may have to wait until 2010 on our tenth year.

We should have more T16's coming over and above the cars mentioned in my first post but just waiting on a few confirmations.

We had three T16's 4 years ago and they were very very popular so glad to see them back in 2009. Idea with our rally theme.

Like I say, if some from the club want to come and park with the T16s in the trade area it will be accommodated.

Mark"

"we have set up a specific shop item for this stand:-

http://frenchcarshow.co.uk/shop/product.php?productid=16179

Only members of this club can park on the stand with the 3+ T16's (full group b rally car and two limited road versions)"

All respect to putting together the show etc, however i believe the majority of the 205 boards feel a hell of a lot was promised and not so much delivered

Ahh my bad. I was assuming by your original post referring to the "hype towards the T16", not T16's, that there was only one expected.

In general I enjoyed the show, but did have a few bits taken without people paying for them. I also lent out a rear brake calliper to help someone out, they were going to offer it up and see if it was right then return to pay for it, but guess what they never came back. I have learnt my lesson now, which is a shame because I believe you should be able to trust people still! I know there are still alot of good people out there, but when you try and help someone out and they them steal from you, it is hard to keep on smiling.

yea, there were talks of large numbers of t16s all being there.. only one was a bit of a drop out lol.

Its terrible to hear the above, and i can vouch for saying you even offered my mate to try out the o/e uncut boost hose before paying, but instead i think he payed straight away any how.

Yes he did pay for it! He was a nice, very polite chap and a friend of yours!
It was another couple that came up around about 2:30 -3:00. It is always a bit of a kick in the teeth when it happens!

i thought this year was much better than any previous, but i've been to them all since lutterworth hall anyway, used to be the pgac national day!

only complaint was the dust, have already spoken to mark about it but its only a minor complaint, me bro had to take his 5 into work yesterday to blow all the dust out with an air line as he had the bonnet open all day

don't believe the hype.... especially when someone is trying to get you to do something.

Cant believe that happened Mike, Some light fingered scum out there

I thought the show was good, To be fair i only go for the crack with the lads:agree: Track action was a bonus:cool:

One thing i thought that there were too many people on track at a time though, too many heroes in the newer clio's etc thinking they are the next ragnotti.

A lad in a clio 182 cut up my mate in his saxo on the fast l/h corner on the oval, we were over the ton mark in the racing line & he nearly took out the n/s of the car, it was a brown pants moment for sure.

I'll try n keep as short and sweet as i can be:D I thought the show was ace, i had never been before and i would definitely go again, but as dj says i wouldn't pay in advance again just pay at the gate on arrival. Disapointing to be £30 down and argueing for a refund first thing in the morning:sad2:

The r5 stall was great, nice to meet you two on there and thanks very much for the uncut boost hose:agree::agree: dj and i just had to wack it on for the journey home! You'll be hearing from me soon for more OE:)! Really sorry to here about the scumbag whos robbed you:mad: hope they get what they deserve...scum of the earth.

Good to meet other rtoc members as well J8THO and Ryan p and quality to watch other members rinse the track out in there cars:D! Hats of to ya Clee putting in many amazing laps that alpine of yours is awesome:D thought it must have been gettin a bit hot under the collar when the boot lid came came off! Shes awesome:agree:

Dust was a bit poo! Took my apetite away ALL DAY! and ruined the paint jobs to some amazin show cars for the day, but still liked the rally stage. Would have been nice to see a t16 road car there.
