Got car running the other week with new exhaust on and @ approx 1200rpm the exhaust is 99db. Has anyone seen them flaps / valves you can put in the system to make quieter and open at higher revs. Tried google and eBay and all i can find is the flaps like tractors have :laugh:

search for exhaust cutout valve, theres also a version available that uses and actuator that makes the flap open the more the wastegate opens.

apart from that your talking big money for a electric one

why not fit a db killer, dosnt realt restric airflow but makes it quiter

Im running a straight through 2 3/4" to the rear box, its been made by a mate, dont want to look ungrateful and ask him to whack another box in it :scared:

We did use a iPhone application to take the reading so maybe that isn't as good as they say :scratch: but it seemed to get quieter when we upped the revs.

Will have to see about getting it tested before i book a track day, good old Maplins should do something. Not sure what the app was as deleted it but was 59p well spent :laugh:

Does have a certain sound to it though

certain sound........ that back box got wadding in? sure he didnt rip you off and fit a straight pipe lol

bet thats fooking awfull on boost!

Na didn't get ripped off as didnt cost me a penny, there is wadding in the rear box but think i may need a middle box aswell. It actually gets quieter the higher the revs

i dont think mine was that bad even when i ran a k-tec sidey with the box removed!

did sound awesome on boost, and when you let off you could hear the turbo spooling down in the exhaust note

That sounds awsome, love offensivley loud exhausts on these cars,
