Oh Man, on the way back from Pod 2 weeks ago my sunroof caught a bit of air and departed from the passenger side and could be seen through my driver side door whilst doing exactly 70 mph :scared:. Hence a brown trouser moment, and an arm out the window to hold it up

This pic was taken by Morg as we swiftly dived into the nearest lay-by on the A14!

A phone call to Bob last week found CGB had an electric roof in stock, but the chances it was the same were slim, this was confirmed Saturday when I popped over there to check it out.

This is a call out to everyone on here as I'm told any old sunroof from any old model were put into 5's. Mine retracts internally and the glass is fitted to the mechanism by 2 allen headed nuts at each side.

In my case, the metal which is bonded to the glass has totally rusted away, hence now leaving the brackets still attached to the car.......

Ive taken a number a photos to show what I'm after, on the back seat is the glass now shown minus the brackets and in a sorry state, the others are of the mechanism and a close up of the brackets. If anyone has a car that is being broken or just lying around with this sunroof please let me know.

At the moment, i can only drive the car without the sunroof in it. hence only sunny weather, every time i park it up, i have to place the sunroof back in to lock it and make sure the alarm doesn't keep going off. Luckly i have a garage but this is a pain in the arse................please some one help!

Also ideas of what to do if i never find this glass are also welcome.......cars mint besides this issue.

Thanks, Jay

Could you not clean it all up, get some new brackets made, and bond them to the screen?

It's an option, would be worried about cleaning the rust off the glass in case i smashed or cracked it.
