...anyone seen it????

Seriously guys, I drove to work Friday and all was fine, Went to reverse out from work and couldn't get it. I put this down to banging the gear linkage on a speed bump.

Today i put the car on the ramp and tryed to manually put the box in reverse(me being the gear linkage) with and without the engine running, with no sucsess.

Anyone had any problems like this?

Next stage is box out and strip it.

have u moved the linkage rod where it clamps halfway down the gearchange rod?? i used to loose 5th after speed bumps. try slackening it off (the clamp bolt) setting the box in reverse then putting the lever in reverse and tightening up

:cartman:I had the opposite once, I couldn't get the car out of reverse, tried everything. i had to leave the car at work at the end of the day! Next day somehow got it working as it should and to this day (6yrs on) hasn't ever given me grief?????

I lost reverse once but it was down to my shady after market gear knob that previous chav owner no. 14 had fitted. The screw bottom worked itself loose so every time I pulled the reverse button/slide up it wouldn't go up all of the way so couldn't move the stick. Solution, remove, polish, sell to chav on ebay, Done.

why don't you take the gearbox out of that old scrap raider in the yard. Rich will never fix it anyway.
