just after some info on what cars had the f7p and f7r engines fitted? is there any apart from the clio and 19.?

also, i hear that not all f-series block are the same? ie height of the block! is there not any other f-series block the same as the clio/19 16v?

i ask as it may give me abit more scope when looking for an engine etc.

Stop trying to be Mart, by putting 'ski' on the end of everything. Next you will be pushing the fail boat out to set sail...

lol yes, its true.. I want to be Mart

Besides... you'll find the fail boat moored at my dock most months of the year.

Marts the man though... no-one else could get away with taking the piss out of someone for using 'lol' constantly when ever other word of his is 'fail'

...lol

Yeh, would have to agree.. Next he'll be setting the roflcopter off simultaniously with the fail boat.

I remember telling you this now mate but i'm now questioning myself as to if its correct, i remember someone telling me i'd have to use a longer cambelt to run a 2l bottom end on my volvo engine and thought it was cause of the blok height.

I'll have to have a think and a check again mate.

if you could shed some light on this that would be great:agree: also regarding using a longer cam belt... are the pulleys the same size as the other engine?

the volvo and 1.8 blocks are the same height, the 2l blocks are taller. belt timing varies between the 2 heights, you'd correct it on verniers though.

just to make sure, is this right?

the volvo being the 1.7 8v
clio/meg/19 being the 1.8 16v [f7p]. does megane models come in 1.8 16v?
clio/meg being the 2.0 16v [f7r]

so if the 1.7 and 1.8 block are identical whats stopping the 1.7 being fitted with the frp or f7r heads.? or am i over looking something?

also ive just noticed this on ebay and it states its a 1.6? is it? with a turbo conversion from prima!
it looks like a 1.7 carbed engine to me as theres no inlet plenum:confused:

by frp you mean f7p ?

they're no where near identical, just the same height. castings differ as does bore. 8v and 16v blocks differ in cylinder head fitment too, so 16v head doesn't fit onto the 8v block. you could do it, you'd need to weld up the oil drain that over hangs the 8v block and install a new oil drain somewhere else.

that advert looks like a 1.7na, prima type conversion, the turbo is in the gtt location as per prima's manifold. gtt carburettor too.

sorry that was a spell error.

so this 1.7 turbo carb version:confused: why?
