How is 7.8 seconds to 60 slow?

That's actually reasonably quick for a 200bhp, 1400kg, FWD, coupe and when measured against all cars, it's firmly in the upper quartile.

Hello Folks,

Many thanks for the welcome, and glad that you are liking the motor.
Some more pics...

My previous favourite car was the R11 Turbo. I just loved the performance, the looks of
surprise and those lovely "petale" seats! I've had the Coupe just over 2 months now
and it's fast becoming my new favourite.

Oh, at my time of life, the acceleration on this car is quite quick enough. Unlike the R5GTT,
there's little or no noise. Just a calm effortlessness about it. If you like, it's at the opposite
end of the scale, but it's just as satisfying.

Hello Folks,

Some more, rather poor pics to show the only mods I've made to the car. I've fitted the
5-LED high intensity W5W replacements and the driving lights are replaced by the 385's
shown at the top of this page... (http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/380-led-bulbs-c-1064.html) They were a tad expensive, and I notice the price has
gone up by £1.50 since I purchased them. They do look good though.

The top 2 pics show the new driving lights lit. I'll have another go at taking some better
pictures when the weather clears up.

I initially purchased the 36LED replacement, but not long after, one row of 6 LEDs began
to flash. So they now reside in the rear cluster as reversing lights.

Pic below shows one of the sidelights lit. It matches the HID headlights much better than
the awful standard W5W bulb. If you look closely, you can see the driving light bulb below.

I'd love to go to that, but I have a dog that I can't leave behind. By the way, she has
her own matching travel kennel on the back seat, with climate control to keep her cool :)

What's the policy on bringing dogs? Will it be much too loud etc.,?

whats the spec ??
It's the full spec with Bose sound system, except for SatNav and I didn't bother with
the heated seats. Was disappointed with the very dull colour range, but settled on the
Stone with cream leather upholstery. I'm still not sure I like the colour, would have much
preferred one of the light metallic greens on the Mk2.

Sound system is superb, as is the build quality! The one surprising thing is the admiring
glances from BMW, Audi and Volvo coupe owners. Other than the local garage's demo
car, I've also yet to see another on the road. Could this become a bit of a cult car?

Hmmmm... that's a moot point! Did the Aston come out before or after the Mk2 Laguna?

It's a question that I haven't resolved myself yet, but if it came out after, then the
scalloped shape IMO was adopted by Aston. On Mk2's with a rear spoiler, its shape is
not too evident, but was just streamlined by Renault on this car. So, perhaps it's more
that the Aston looks like the Renault?

In the rain, the water just beads off the screen at a rate of knots. So much so that the
wipers are hardly ever actuated. However, that rear window doesn't clear, so it makes
missing the rear wiper stand out. I almost took it back to the dealer to complain about
the missing bit on the wiper stalk. Good job I got out first and noticed there was no
wiper there... :o
