clio subframe into renault 5

are the subframes the same? as in mounting points? could i lift a 5 off its subframe and slide in the clio one and drop the shell back down?

Which clio? the mk1 maybe but I dowt the other 2 would fit

I think the mk1 you could, obviously you know about the gearbox mount hole not being there and poss the wishbones being different but it doesn't look all that different.
Only way to know is give the 2 frames a measure up mate, check distance between each mounting hole.

Forgot to say only difference i do know is the front section is shaped differently to accept the different rad

Yes it does mate, the clio has holes in the gearbox for the gtt mount

I have the mk 1 clio and i fitted the r5 gtt engine and subframe but kept the clio box. the mounting for the 5 frame fit onto the box fine but the subframes are different on the front off side (drivers side). I welded a plate onto the chassis leg as its shorter in one that corne so you will get the problem of the subframe being longer. if that makes sense. The two back bolts and passenger front all fit fine
