Just been looking for an article or thread on changing front discs and pads....can only find rear discs and pads, which is very helpful including pics. Is there an article on the site talking you through changing the front discs and pads?:)

jack car up (use axle stands)
remove wheel
undo disc retaing bolt if its there
undo calpier bolts, remove old pads
remover carrier
remove old disc
fit new disc (worth putting copper slip on the hub bit so its nice tot ake off for next time, and fit the disc bolt if you want
clean up carrier with a wire brush, and with some big pipe grips push piston back in
refit carrier
apply copper slip to edges of pads where they sit in carrier so doesnt squek
fit pads
re fit caliper
refit wheel and torque up
then do same for other side, and remember to pump the pedal before you drive.

only real problem you may have is with the disc retaining bolts.
may be wise to get a couple spare just in case.

not a problem though running them without, just a little bit harder to put the wheel on. but as soon as the wheel is on and torqued up theres no difference

I have a couple of spare genuine retaining bolts - new. Give me a shout if you need them.

You can have them at the same price I paid, but are £2 each
