i removed my head tonight and found the exhaust valves are pitted, is this normal or should i look at replacing them.
did you do a compression test before the head was removed?
i think leaky stem seals can cause it...possibly the timing to??

no compression test was done, engine ran ok.
Det will have done the pitting on the ex valves. Probably not advisable to reuse them but i have got away with it in the past.

u can get them reground with the seats if u like but other members might have decent spares lying around.make sure there's no pitting on the valve-rocker face!
When my head got rebuilt a pair of years back, Renault did me a decent price on them. Cant remember how much, but it wasn't as heavy at all as I'd feared.

£86 for new valves. i may aswell order a set unless any one has some they want to sell me.
As long as the stems aren't worn, just get them refaced, be a lot less than £86.
