Bit of a random post, but thought id ask anyway... Got 8 13" Standard wheels so thought id refurb a set, rubbing them down, and on the 2nd one i noticed instead of it saying 'SPEEDLINE' on the front of the alloy, it says 'MADE IN FRANCE'. Checked all the others and they all say 'SPEEDLINE', just got one that says made in france, anyone shed some light?

On a slightly more random / off topic note, were all Renault 5's made in france?

ive noticed this made in france thing on my wheels, i think its the same as 205 gtis where peugeot had the same wheels manufactured by 2 different companys, speedline and the other i think is called ms, the ones to go for are the speedline ones cause they are lighter altho they look the same

the situation with my wheels is that not all the centre caps fit on flush with the wheel, the caps were from a different set of wheels, so im guessing there is a slight difference in design perhaps?

In 1990 production started in Slovenia and lasted till 1996. Only 1.1 Campus and 1.6 GTD models were made there. Cheaper plastics, carpet, dashboard and other bits distinguished it from french model. Colors were cheaper too. Some kind of navy grey, gloss white and red were 0n 99% of the cars.
