I sure that renault did an efi manifold on the either the 8, 9 or 11 but only in france, 1 of the french guys who came over to last years national day had 1 on his R5

can you use the twingo ecu?
what power increase comes about from this?

Twingo?

what engine was in yours andy?

was looking for any manifold with a larger inlet that the stock gtt one really, the larger the better, was just for an idea i had floating about.

it's sat on the drive - just in case it all gets too much

it's SPI

might be intrested in the inlet and spi setup if you end up deciding to scrap it all ;)

what manifold and ignition/fueling can you use, or is it stand alone stuff?

i dnt think you can use the twingo ecu, why would you want to its for a n/a vehicle? standalone ecu would be the way forward, tho i think people have used modified 21 turbo ecu and injection setups. this thread is just to find different manifolds really

I sure that renault did an efi manifold on the either the 8, 9 or 11

They did, but it was on the California spec R11 alliance model, to meet their strict emission laws. The words 'rare as rocking horse sh1t' spring to mind when trying to find one though...

yeah seen these about, spoke to woznaldo about them. if i could get one of them id be a happy man, thinking about knocking up a single point type setup, ideas for an easy way of solving a carb emptying problem

wasn't there a lad on here who brought one of those from ebay usa a couple of years ago?

Would be cool to have a bolt on efi ready manifold. Infact, i know its been talked about, but a full efi kit could still be a winner if it was cheap enough.

it would never be cheap enough for the tightwads on RTOC:laugh:

Twingo inlet is cast iron, and part of the exhaust manifold - how's your hacksaw arm Adey

It's Michael Teirney's old one, I had a look for the old advert, but it must have been on the temp site... Well, I think that's the one Rich has anyway.

are you on about the injector holder bit? saw them before but forgot about it lol. was looking for away to make a spi setup to be fair, and using a bigger plenum off another model engine so there was less of a restriction, or more of a bigger opening.

TNT!hammond

Adey, the adaptor comes with a spacer for an injector for each runner, and a std inlet manifold thats machined and welded to take a throttle body of your choice, TNT andy has one sitting in his car at the mo. He has a 50mm mondeo zetec throttle body so a fair bit larger than the std 25 venturi.

hope that helps a little

awesome, sounds like it could be worth a look for a chuck together, do you have a price atall?

TNT!hammond
01-06-2009, 22:35
sorry Adey i cant help with a price , Michael is online on here though so drop him a pm.

Im guessing you where thinking along the lines of a large tube shape plenum with single throttle body and 4 longer runners? I belive it has been mentioned before that with spi you would struggle to fuel properly and still have the trouble of lean on 2 cylinders .

I think mb performance still sell there mpi? efi system which is bassically 2 injectors where the carb would of once lived. Ill try and get a link for you to look at .

TNT!hammond
01-06-2009, 22:37
here you go have a gander at that , pricey but could be done diy?

the carb is esentially a spi setup so i cant see how it would be anyworse? was looking at doing somthing like micheals tb setup just further away from the plenum/mani so that an injector could be held above the mani itself, thus spraying fuel down into the mani (same as the carb) with the added bonus of being able to map the injector same as you would with a full efi setup but with less cost:agree:

TNT!hammond
01-06-2009, 23:10
i think it was cc size and work rate the injector would have to be ? instead of 4 injectors firing 1 in every 4 it has to fire on every stroke , i dont know if thats alot to ask of 1 injector trying to fuel say a t28 at 20 psi? I dont really know myself , i do remember the subject being touched on before though on the old forum.

Adey aka Ewok
01-06-2009, 23:12
rather large i woulda thought, could be done with 2 tho? just an idea at the moment

TNT!hammond
01-06-2009, 23:19
did you look at the mb one? if you look there are 2 injectors mounted to a moded carb base arrangement. That setup runs there rally car which if you read there news section seems to do bloody well at events so must work ok. The down side to that particular system is the siemens ecu which they load a map on and you cant adjust. If you could use say mega squirt or some thing else cheap i should imagine you could make a similair system cheap by using stuff from a scrappy?

if i were to tune the gtt any further i would for sure make a new inlet mani, forget trying to bodge injectors into the stock one, the shape is awfull for making power.
its really not hard to make mani`s, and then chuck adaptronic on there, your rocking.
have a look at a site called homemadeturbo.com they do a lot of fabrication of mani`s, all home made as you can guess, very budget minded chaps, and very knowlegable, sure u can pick some ideas from there.
