I'm looking for a timing belt cover for the 172 engine, I'm not using the top mount, so don't want, and can't fit the huge 172 cover.

So far I've got 4 alternatives:

buy the cover used on the 172 race cars - no longer available :(
make a tin cover in the style of the 172 race cars...
machine the std 172 cover to make it smaller...
fit a 197 cover...

I'm currently thinking that the 197 cover is the way to go, anyone know:

whether it'd fit...
whether it'd fit with the standard 172 bottom cover..
part number, and price from renault..
availability from a scrappie.

that said, the part number you give is the same as the one listed on the Renault Sport parts list :agree:

Just need to find out whether it fits...

Ilker - if I get sorted the 172 bits are yours :)
