Not sure if this is in the right place for this thread.

When Pete and I took the engine out of mine we reaslised that i had quite a bit of corrosion were the pant is, under the brake reservoir.

So i got my drill and wire brush set out and went at it :crap:!

Where the different panels meet there has been a protective *something* covering the joints, is this important to be painted back? If it is, and cant be protected with metal protection, what is it and where do i get it? Cheers Chris

chris, i had the same problem as you before i repainted my engine bay, and as above all i did was get rid of all the original seam seal down to the bare metal. i then applied some rust killer all over the shop, after that i simply applied some white tigerseal and used my finger to smooth it off. leave it for a day to cure and then i primed and painted over it.

you cant tell that anything was done:agree:
