Was in Burtons today and was speaking about banded steels, person there got pulled over the other week and had to get them removed as they were illegal. MOT stations will not pass them as well, does anyone know any truth behind this?

I've always heard they were illegal, but a few companies have started offering this service more recently. Most likely its still illegal and the wheels are not meant for road use.
