haha rusty look, i swear there was a thread with a guy that had striped the bonnet, but theres a plate that isnt rusting so well

well yer black does look nice, think id have to spray the sheels black too, but that was on the cards any how,
then i was thinking of white and a white bonnet

oh i dunno but it gives me a base to work with on photoshop as i do have a realy crap camrea.

does look good, im thinking of doing this and spraying laquer over it, but then does that rust carry on eating the fresh metal or does the laquer seal in the rust and stop the rusting process which of course is a reaction of oxygen and iron with the presence of mosture. thats what i want to know!

close, it goes back a bit. Some might call it patina...

to me a ratrod should be built using only pre-war parts and techniques.

that said I pulled up into a mini show in'85 in my '68 mini. Not much interest until I popped the front and drew a crowd. My favorite question was "why did you put such a good engine in such a crappy body" :)

There were certainly ratbikes running around in the mid 80's, so gawd knows how far the 'rat' name goes back.

i think it all started with mad max tbh, the rat look was madness, i love madmax to this day tbh but saying that did they think that idea up or was it total genre in that part of the world were a bike/car had to last as long as possible by any means,

i know the 70/80's is were the true rat look came in but also there was two types, the survival look, which was the madmax look, and then the unmaintaned look, were i belive the known rat look of today is rusty or matblack,

tho i may be talking crap but thats how i see it

on another note i think madmax should make a comeback!

i mean terminator did
