Can you fit a smaller alternator belt on the original bottom pulley to make more room for front mount intercooler pipe run to go over the altenator or do you have to fit a campus bottom pulley?

2 make a big enough difference i think you would need2 change the pulley! i did try putting a smaller belt on mine without changing the pulley, still didnt give me the room i needed so ended up runnin mine like this.....

I fitted the smallest belt I could and it gave me just enough room for the pipe work. I'll get the size later. You may need to cut away some of the plastic air scoop for the rad. Not much though.

Put the 5 campus pulley on with a 10x1175 (or maybe 10x1075) belt worked a treat for me. I had to turn the engine over to get the belt on the pump though, its a bit tight!

halfords do them cheap enough, i just went there and bought 3 sizes and see what i could get on, then took the other 2 back. Think i ended up woth 1075 and there enough room for intercooler piping

Its a smaller diameter which allows for a smaller belt to be fitted and the alternator to be pushed nearer to the engine

gttjames - was that on the campus pulley
standard r5 turbo mate. Only thing i changed was the belt, and that gave me enough room to fit a 51mm intercooler piping over it.

Im not sure what size i ended up fitting though mate. But go to halfords and in there book it says the standard size they are. I just bought this and the 2 below it that where shorted, and whichever i didnt use i took back
