i apologise for the ignorance in advance :ashamed:

i am wanting to save the 5 in the below pics but i have no fooking
idea of them apart from i know it has 3 stud wheel fitment .
as you can see its in a sorry state allready and i have a funny feeling
it may need lots of mechanical repairs .

the questions are;
1-what is it actually called , what engine has this one got ??

2-how easy/hard/expensive is it to find the parts for these ? are they running on 5gtt
or similar gear (suspension ,steering,body parts etc )

3- what would be the power on one of these ,what are my chances of upping it ?

Looks like a normal Mk1 renault 5. Definatly not a gordini turbo

its not a gordini, or even a gordini turbo. its a normally aspirated Mk1 5 probably a 1.1 or a 1.4 TL. it looks like its got aircon too, which is rare. gordini's were NEVER 5 door. there are alot of differences between the TL and the gordini turbo. i have alot of parts. bu you'd be silly to waste your effort on a car that will never be a gordini.
you can get good power out of them, the downfall is the small 180mm clutch.

thanks for the info matey :agree: i believe the airconny looking thing
is an lpg mixer though .

should have mentioned , circumstances are a wee different .
as some of you might have noticed the car is foreign registered and is NOT in UK .
only wanted this as a cheap runaround to use in my holidays back home in Turkey
for 2-3 weeks a year than my cousin could drive it the rest of the time.
there are only a handfull of mk1 renault 5s over there .

dont really want to spend loads make it uber mint or super duper quick either
but would like to make it a bit more reliable(efi conversion of some sort,bigger head etc ??) ,driveable (5 speed g/b ) and presentable .

btw while modding the engine ,i will HAVE to stick with the original bottom
end due to some silly laws over there .
KEEP THEM INFOS COMING :cooter::cooter:

i have a whole 1.1 engine with 5 speed box sitting here that you can have for the princely sum of f0ck all.
keep with the 1.1 if you want.
the block is identical to the 1.4, except where you lot in the liners is smaller.
so...do you HAVE to keep the block the same?

i have some warm cams for this engine too.
i also used a gt turbo carb to let it breathe more easily.
you cannot use the gt turbo head and exhaust manifolds as the water pump is in the way....
