Its quite easy the wiring for the fan and relay. Basicaly the alternator supplies the power to the relay and fan switch. On the relay to have 4 pins, maybe 5 but you dont need them all. 2 are the relay coil switched by the fan switch and the other 2 are power in and power out of the relay to supply the fan motor.

On relay
Red wire is supply to relay from alternator, Goes on pin 85 on relay
Brown wire goes from relay to fan motor, pin 30 (goes to red wire on fan motor)
Orange wire is feed from fan switch to relay coil pin 86
Black wire is earth from relay coil to battery - pin 87 though relavent earth point.

On fan switch
Orange wire from fan switch to relay.
Brown wire i think from alternator. has +12v on it to power relay coil pin 86 through fan switch along orange wire to relay coil.

The fan motor will have a black wire which is the earth (negative) back to battery -

Wire that up as above and to test. bridge together the two wires on the fan switch and the fan should run. then allow engine to get hot and see whether it works on its own. :agree:

there is another rad fan wiring thread not so far back mate,
any how heres a wiring diagrame i drew up after having the same problem

this is a 4 pin relay(does have no.5 pin but redundant)
or any 2 postion switched relay as below
manual switch is optional, its there incase the rad sender fails for any reason
