ignition barrel??

can someone please tell me the best way to get the ignition barrel out,as im going to replace mine tomoz,and by the looks of it you have to slide it out towards you.but you cant because of the dash???

I think you have to have the key in at a certain position. Can't remember exactly tbh, pretty sure it's in the green Haynes manual though

its the blank position where you got the markings iirc .
than you press the locking tabs in and pull the fooker out :coffee:

so it is possible to slide it out without cracking the steering coloumn cover???
