Why would Top Gear come to the Isles of Scilly to film on the 20th and 21st of May? I heard that one of them is coming over here with a couple of vehicles but I am trying to figure out what they are up to... We don't have a lot of road over here (only 7 or so miles), it is a registered A road so maybe the smallest/narrowest/crappest? I couldn't imagine them bringing over something like a Ferrari or Lambo, the roads are too thin and bumpy with pot holes every couple of feet or so, maybe they are testing out a new land rover but why not go up to the Brecon Beacons?

I love it when 5hit like this goes down, as you can imagine we don't get a lot of action over here :D

Ha, ha! Just found out what they're up to! Apparently (operative word), they are going to send a letter from John O'groats to the Isles of Scilly and they want to see if they can beat it in some kind of car(s). I wouldn't trust the ferry/freight company with a brand new car from Penzance to here

Mexico?

 :agree:

My work mate had a holiday booked to Mexico and cancelled the day everything cracked off with swine flu. He changed his destination to Sri Lanka and flew out a couple of days later. True story. I'm assuming he's still alive.

Well, there was a piece on the news yesterday about a local lad who's been out there for a few months teaching just outside Mexico City. Apparently he doesnt know ANYONE who's caught it and says everyone in this country is worrying over nothing.

Wonder if he'll still be thinking that when his trotters start aching.

Well the rumours were true, James May and Richard Hammond came over today to start their jolly/task of beating a letter theu will post from Scilly to some island in Scotland. I went down to the quay on my lunch break to be nosey, as did other people, so I took some photos of the Porsche Panamera coming off the boat and a few of May http://www.rtoc.org/boards/album.php?albumid=637 I didn't spot Hammond but I soon realized that he was having lunch near by but I had to go back to work at this point.

Why is it that Porsche can only do the one shape without making a pigs ear out of it?

Yep, I think the ferry company could have made it better if they had bashed it about a bit on the way here and back...
