View Full Version : Pads falling out of rear calipers

Anyone had this problem, even with the metal clips in they just hang out and are loose, can pretty much pull them out. Took them out and it looks like the carrier has vissible wear where the pads fit.

Classic problem. Mine and Kris M's did the same thing! My problem was i did'nt have the metal clips on the pads, Kris M problem was as above + his pads had worn on the edges causing them to be loose in the caliper but his wheel bearing was Sha**ed too so that did'nt help. We both got a brake kit from renault which had new pad clips,slide pins and locking clips and various other goody's. Kris replaced his pads and bearing too. All good now. Hope this helps. ;)

:agree: mine was missing the clips which caused them to drop as well

Yeah as above really. Firstly my L shape bar was fitted incorrectly at the top of the pads ( should be at the bottom )

Also i was missing the anti rattle clips. All new bits from Renault ( in a small kit) + new pads has sorted the problem of the pads working their way loose

Think i might just redo it all! it all looks old

Got a part number for the kit with new slider's/anti rattle clips? And price for this little kit?

u can get the kit from any small motor factors ,they are not that expensive , the same kit is also for other cars peouget 205 i think:)

ha ha same here happened on the way to shakespeare race way.
we met a few people at the tesco in solihull as a convoy.8 30 in the morning on my hands and knees with sparki bashing the end of the retainer pin so it would not fall out :crap: :laugh:did the job tho for a good while :wasntme:

Thats the kit. Good price aswell, the kit from Renault was around 22 quid !
