Which way round does it go? My brains telling me that the metal side should face the exhaust and inlet manifold.

i can confurm that it is metal side of the gask to the mani
thats how ren fitted it at the factory
think about it, it simmple innit
the zorst mani gets hot cold hot cold hot cold , expantion / contraction.. if its got somthing to slide along instead of a grippy gask . then the gasket will last longer,

Although Renault did fit them metal side to manifold from the factory, in reality it doesn't make any difference.

I've ran manifold gaskets either way round without any prob's for years.

if you look on the paper side, its still metal round the holes so it really shouldn't make any difference
